HICCUPS

Remember the last time when you had these irritating hiccups, which had taken the pledge not to leave you. How many gallons of water you gulped in, but to no avail. Don’t worry; I have a sure shot remedy against it. And, believe me it is effective 100% of times.
THERAPY
Next time you contract it, no need to panic. Just do as I say. Take mouthful of water, hold it there, and do not swallow it. Then insert both your index fingers in both your ears (i.e. close both external auditory canals using your index fingers). Now wait for the moment when you feel you are going to have next hiccup. Just before you get it, keeping your ears still closed swallow the water. Now remove your fingers from your ears. If there is no relief, repeat this procedure 2-3 times.
Believe me it works always because there is a scientific logic behind its principle. Those who are interested in knowing the etiology and pathophysiology of hiccups and how does above-mentioned therapy works, an ask me.
CAUTION
If hiccups are recurrent, persistent or are disturbing enough to hamper your day-to-day activities, consult your physician.

HEADACHE

HEADACHE
This is one of the most common symptoms, which every individual must have suffered from. Here I’m referring to diffuse headache, or mild to moderate intensity headache localized to one point. In medical world such type of headache is known as ‘TENSION HEADACHE’, which is idiopathic i.e. without any cause. It may arise from stress, emotional strain, sleep deprivation, physical exertion etc.
THERAPY
So, next time you have such a headache, don’t rush to your medicine cabinet to grab an analgesic. Rather, try this out. Look for a quiet, peaceful place, like an isolated room in your home. Switch off the lights and block any external energy (e.g. sunlight) from entering in. But ensure, room is properly ventilated and air inflow is patent. Now lie down straight facing the ceiling on an even surface (bed, couch, floor). Close your eyes and leave your body loose. Concentrate on your headache. Try to trace it up to the point from where it is arising, or if it is diffuse feel as if you are mentally dragging it to one point. Now clench both your fists tightly and try to bend your toes towards your sole, as far as possible. At this point imagine you have made an opening in your skull just above the point you are having headache. Now feel you are directing the pain out of this hole and slowly unclench your fist, relax your toes and then slowly open your eyes. If there is no relief, repeat it 2-3 times. Not only will your headache be vanished but also you will feel fresh and raring to go.
CAUTION
If headache is very severe or is accompanied by dizziness, nausea, vomiting, vertigo, unconsciousness, convulsions, blurring of vision or is persistent, consult your physician .
